McEwen Mining Inc. has four producing mines, located in Nevada, Ontario, Mexico, and Argentina, and also has exposure to copper through its subsidiary McEwen Copper, owner of the large Los Azules copper deposit in Argentina. Our goal is to further develop into a strong and profitable gold and silver producer, focused on the Americas. In order to do that, we need great talent. McEwen Mining currently has an opening at our Fox Complex Sites for a:

Development Miner

Reporting to the Underground Mine Supervisor, the Development Miner is responsible for the efficient completion of day-to-day Development Mining Activities. He or she must be a committed team player with a strong knowledge and dedication to safety, production methods and equipment care. Other duties will be assigned as per operational needs.

The list of duties and responsibilities below is not exclusive or exhaustive, and the employee will be required to undertake such duties as may reasonably be expected within the scope of the position. All employees are required to be professional, cooperative and flexible in line with the requirements of the position.

Operational / Technical Execution:

• Drilling, Loading and Blasting of Development Rounds.
• Drilling and Blasting of Safety Bays.
• Mucking and loading U/G Haulage Trucks.
• Operate jackleg, stoper, or Mclean bolter install ground support.
• Identify different types of underground explosives.
• Install U/G services air/water/sump piping, ventilation etc...
• Install services for the mining process.
• Install air ventilation and water systems in production areas.
• Mount screen or mesh in underground headings with rebar or bolting methods with ground support.
• Identify different types of underground explosives.

General Administration and Controls:

• Maintain a high level of housekeeping in work areas.
• Understand and apply safe work practices.
• Follow all company policies and standards.
• Other duties that may arise from time to time.

Qualifications and Skills Requirement:

• Must be authorized to work in Canada.
• Valid driver’s license and a reliable means of transportation.
• Ability to work safely, efficiently, and always maintain a safety conscious mentality within the Mine environment.
• Good safety knowledge and understanding with the ability to recognize hazards and situations that may cause problems.
• Highly motivated to learn/train and become part of the McEwen Mine team supporting all the processes with professionalism.
• 2+ years’ work experience as a Development Miner
• 5 years’ work experience in an underground mine environment
• Must have underground common core.
• Willing to work shift work.
• Must be physically fit and capable of performing physical labor such as lifting.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
