Electrical Engineer | New Product Development

Salem, VA (Onsite)

Up to $115K (depending on experience)

1st Shift | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Must be local to the area

 

We’re partnering with a well-established manufacturing organization in Southwest Virginia to hire an Electrical Engineer to support new product development for innovative electronic products. They’re looking for someone with hands-on experience who can own designs and help move products from concept into production.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

• Design and support electrical hardware and firmware for microcontroller-based products
• Create system-level electrical designs, schematics, and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
• Support product launches by working cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, and operations teams
• Develop technical specifications, test plans, and validation documentation
• Participate in prototype builds, testing, and early customer evaluations
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts within engineering and manufacturing

What They’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• 3+ years of experience in electrical design or new product development
• Strong background in analog and digital circuit design
• Experience with PCB design and layout (Altium preferred)
• Exposure to RF/wireless communication is a plus
• Comfortable working in a hands-on, on-site engineering environment

Nice to Have

• Experience with low-power electronics, battery-powered systems, or electromechanical components
• Familiarity with embedded systems or microcontrollers (PIC, ARM, etc.)
• Manufacturing or product testing experience (HALT, standards, validation)
