ROAD WARRIORS

The Military Division of Korn Ferry has partnered with our client on their search for a Field Service Engineer, based out of Orlando FL, covering customer locations nationwide. This global organization is a pioneer in the design and production of technologically advanced equipment for energy & power systems – looking for polished individuals with strong Leadership and Maintenance skills, seeking a role with lots of room for exciting career growth.

A Bachelors degree in Engineering, or turbine experience (or similar), are highly preferred, and will give you a huge advantage over other candidates!

Compensation:

1st Year: $75,000-95,000K during 1st year/on-the-job training (15 weeks of training in Orlando FL and Pittsburgh PA – additional stipend for housing, and reimbursement for mileage to Orlando [can cash mileage $ in for flight instead if desired])

2nd Year: potentially $130,000 +, based on seasonal options; salary adjustment is based on “at will” hours you sign up for. This pushes everything toward OT hours as you are working in between months off.

Location: For first year, will be HOME BASED, with 15 total weeks of training to start:

  • 12-weeks of training in Orlando FL (classroom and lab training, as well as on-the-job experience at customer sites; can go home on weekends)
  • 3-weeks of training in Pittsburgh PA

After first year, will be based in Orlando FL

Travel: Extended periods of HIGH travel required – must be a ROAD WARRIOR! Typically 200-250 days per year, for anywhere from 2-15 weeks at a time.

First year is a rotational program with three 4-month assignments, which consist of engineering and manufacturing along different company product lines. This direct exposure to multiple product lines in the power generation industry will help assure a well-rounded view of the many career opportunities offered within the organization.

What You Will Do :

  • Travel to power plants across the country, and where employees are responsible for the maintenance and upgrades to electrical generation machinery (gas turbines, steam turbines and generators.)
  • Will work directly with staff of FSEs to develop skills that include equipment operation, maintenance, job site safety, project management, leadership and business systems.
  • Post- training, will supervise technicians and mechanics working on turbine generator equipment during power plant maintenance shutdowns (both planned and unplanned system outages.)
  • Responsible for disassembling, inspecting, and reassembling turbines and generators.
  • Coordinate the upgrading of mechanical and electrical systems on turbine generators to increase power output and efficiency.

Education and Work Experience:

  • at least 4 years of U.S. Military Leadership experience required
  • Polished LEADER; proactive and driven is KEY!
  • Must be open to HIGH TRAVEL – looking for Road Warriors
  • Strong Maintenance skills; Turbine experience (or similar) highly preferred.
  • Associates or Bachelors degree preferred (or 5+ years experience in a technical leadership role, preferably in power plant or facilities maintenance and operations.)
