We are seeking a skilled  Service Technician for our client to install, maintain, and repair hospital  beds, senior baths, and lifting devices in  long-term care facilities . The ideal candidate will have a strong background in  electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems and be committed to ensuring the safety and functionality of essential healthcare equipment. Excellent Customer service skills a must. This position involves travel throughout South Western Ontario and some overnight stays. A large percentage of the service facilities are in the GTA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform  installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs on  hospital beds, therapeutic baths, ceiling lifts, and other patient mobility devices .
  • Diagnose  electrical, plumbing, and mechanical issues and apply appropriate repairs or replacements.
  • Conduct  routine inspections to ensure all equipment meets  safety standards and regulatory requirements .
  • Respond promptly to  service calls and perform on-site repairs in  long-term care facilities .
  • Maintain  accurate service records , including work performed, parts used, and recommendations for future maintenance.
  • Provide  guidance and training to facility staff on the proper use and care of equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with  health and safety regulations , infection control protocols, and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of  tools, parts, and supplies for efficient service delivery.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Technical,   electrical, plumbing, or mechanical fields (e.g., Electrician, Millwright, HVAC, or Plumbing certification an asset).
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in equipment repair, field service, or a related industry.
  • Strong  troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge of  electrical circuits, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and plumbing fixtures .
  • Familiarity with  regulatory requirements for healthcare and mobility equipment an asset. Training will be provided.
  • Ability to read and interpret  technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints .
  • Strong communication and customer service skills to interact professionally with facility staff and work with the facility without interruption of care to the residents. Be graceful and patient.
  • Valid  driver’s license and willingness to travel between long-term care centers as required. Overnight stays may be required.
  • Physical ability to  lift, move, and install heavy equipment as needed.
  • Clean Abstract, Criminal Background check required
  • Covid-19 Vaccine Required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in  healthcare, senior living, or rehabilitation facilities .
  • Certification in  health & safety, infection control, or medical device maintenance .
  • Manufacturer training or experience with  Arjo, Invacare, Stryker, or other medical equipment brands .

Work Environment:

  • On-site visits to  long-term care facilities for equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Work may involve  lifting, bending, kneeling, and working in confined spaces .
  • Occasional after-hours or emergency service calls may be required.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary Range between $55k and 65k depending on experience.
