Job Summary

Under the supervision of the director of quality assurance, the Game Studio Tester works in parallel with the entire team throughout the game’s development and the QA team. He or she will conduct testing and provide game feedback from the start up until the game is released to external testing.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Works with the developer and game designer throughout the production phase.
  • Prepares live test environments consisting of slot machines, flashing and configuration of test benches.
  • Thoroughly tests game features and functionality.
  • Detects, reports and tracks software defects, inconsistencies and any stability issues.
  • Communicates findings to the developers and product team members.
  • Provides feedback to the game designer on the game feel and overall entertainment factor.
  • Plays the game for long periods to identify any issues that may arise.
  • Participates in the validation of the game release versions before sending them for certification.
  • Participates in the validation of demo versions for various shows.
  • Updates and supports required game documentation.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the manager.

Required Skills And Experience

  • College diploma (DEC) or bachelor’s degree in computer science or relevant experience.
  • 1+ years of experience in quality assurance, preferably in a gaming environment. 
  • Familiarity with setting up, installing, and connecting electronic hardware.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite, especially with Excel.
  • Good documentation skills.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Shows creativity and passion for game design and playability.
  • Able to work as part of a team or independently.

  • Good interpersonal skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is also regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls.      
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.      
  • Depending on the position, may have to travel locally, nationally or internationally.
