Position Summary

The Internal Wholesaler is critical in Tortoise Capital’s modernized distribution strategy. It supports external Investment Specialists in delivering energy infrastructure solutions to financial advisors across key intermediary channels. This role drives engagement, expands relationships, and optimizes sales through a data-driven, high-touch, and highly coordinated approach.

The successful candidate will partner closely with Investment Specialists to develop and execute territory plans, drive proactive outreach, and leverage cutting-edge marketing, digital engagement, and CRM tools to maximize impact.

Primary Responsibilities:

Partner with Investment Specialists

  • Collaborate with external Investment Specialists to develop and execute strategic sales plans.
  • Identify and prioritize high-value advisor relationships using data-driven insights.
  • Support the field team by providing product positioning, market insights, and customized sales ideas.

Advisor Engagement & Business Development

  • Conduct proactive outbound calls and digital engagement to initiate advisor relationships.
  • Educate financial advisors on Tortoise Capital’s differentiated value proposition in energy investing.
  • Coordinate and schedule key meetings, roadshows, and webinars to drive advisor education and fund adoption.

CRM, Digital Tools & Lead Generation

  • Utilize HubSpot and other CRM tools to track and analyze advisor engagement.
  • Leverage Google AdWords-driven leads to optimize outreach and tailor messaging.
  • Collaborate with marketing on lead nurturing campaigns and digital engagement strategies.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Marketing, Strategic Accounts, and Products to ensure alignment in messaging and execution.
  • Provide real-time feedback from the field to improve product positioning and distribution efforts.
  • Participate in internal strategy meetings to align distribution efforts with firm-wide initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in asset management sales, financial services, or intermediary distribution.
  • Series 7 and 66 licenses, preferred
  • Strong understanding of financial products, with exposure to energy, infrastructure, or alternatives preferred.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive, self-driven approach to business development.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex investment strategies clearly and compellingly.
  • Comfortable leveraging CRM platforms, digital tools, and data analytics to enhance sales effectiveness.
  • Desire to grow into an Investment Specialist role with a strong learning orientation and adaptability.
