Location: Richmond, British Columbia
Position: Machinist – Manual Mill and Lathe (Aviation Experience Preferred)
Compensation: $35-$40 per hour
Aerojet Turbine Reworks Inc. is a specialized aviation maintenance and component repair organization located in Richmond, BC. We are dedicated to delivering high-quality turbine component rework and precision machining services to the aerospace sector. As we continue to grow, we are seeking experienced and skilled Machinists to join our team.
Position Summary:
We are currently seeking a talented and detail-oriented Machinist with hands-on experience operating manual mill and lathe machines. The ideal candidate will bring a solid background in precision machining, a strong understanding of aerospace components, and a commitment to quality and safety standards. Aviation industry experience is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities :
• Operate manual milling machines and engine lathes to perform precision machining operations.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
• Measure and inspect finished components using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
• Set up and adjust machines and tools according to job specifications.
• Perform basic machine maintenance and ensure equipment is in safe working condition.
• Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and follow company quality standards.
• Work collaboratively with the Quality Assurance team and Engineering to meet or exceed customer specifications.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with health and safety requirements.
Required Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications:
• Journeyman Machinist with completion of a recognized Machinist Apprenticeship or equivalent training.
• Minimum 5 years of experience operating manual mills and lathes.
• Experience in an aerospace or aviation MRO environment preferred.
• Strong understanding of tolerances, fits, and finishes.
• Ability to work independently and interpret complex technical documents.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Working Conditions:
• Full-time position based in Richmond, BC.
• Standard shop environment with exposure to machining noise and tools.
• Use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
