Job Title: Michif Language Preservation Specialist

Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Michif Language Preservation Specialist to support language preservation and revitalization efforts. This role involves researching, creating, and presenting educational content in Michif , both spoken and written. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Michif language and culture, along with strong communication skills to develop and share engaging materials.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct research on the Michif language, history, and cultural significance .
• Develop written and spoken content in Michif , including educational materials, reports, and presentations.
• Collaborate with community members, educators, and organizations to support language preservation efforts.
• Ensure accuracy and cultural relevance in all content produced.
• Assist in the development of digital and print resources for language learning.

Qualifications:

• Fluency in spoken and written Michif .
• Strong research and content development skills.
• Understanding of Métis culture and community.
• Experience in teaching, public speaking, or community engagement is an asset.
• Passion for language revitalization and Métis cultural preservation.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
