Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Payroll Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for processing semi-monthly payroll for our company, which operates across 40+ states. The primary focus is to ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time while delivering exceptional support to employees and managers.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, can manage multiple priorities efficiently, understands the Workday platform, and is committed to accuracy and compliance. This position follows a hybrid schedule, working onsite at our Lincoln Center Dallas office from Tuesday to Thursday, with remote work options on Mondays and Fridays.

Key Responsibilities

• Review employee hours and pay data, identifying and reconciling any discrepancies.
• Process and post payroll to issue employee paychecks.
• Handle miscellaneous payments, including missed time and retroactive increases.
• Update employee records in the payroll system, including pay class changes.
• Complete verification of employment forms for third-party requests.
• Scan and attach employee documents to payroll system records.
• Provide payroll-related support via email and phone, ensuring excellent customer service.
• Meet daily and weekly time-sensitive payroll deadlines.
• Take on additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
• 2+ years of payroll experience in a multi-state environment.
• Experience with Workday is required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Strong customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively via phone and email.
• Highly detail-oriented with the ability to shift priorities as needed.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to finding solutions.
• Team player who takes pride in ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.
