As a Project Manager, you will play a critical role in leading customers through successful implementations of Syncron’s service platform, working closely with cross-functional teams across the globe.

About the role

We are looking for a passionate Project Manager to join our Expert Services team in Tokyo, Japan. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality implementation projects, ensuring customer satisfaction, and driving business transformation through Syncron’s cloud-based solutions.

What would you do?

  • Project Leadership & Execution
    • Partner with customer project managers to drive successful implementation projects, ensuring clear goals and measurable success criteria.
    • Lead cross-functional global project teams, including Solution Architects, Technical Leads, and Consultants, ensuring seamless execution.
    • Utilize Syncron's standardized project methodology to ensure efficiency, consistency, and quality in delivery.
    • Manage project scope, risks, change requests, and escalations, proactively identifying and resolving challenges.
  • Stakeholder & Risk Management
    • Guide steering committees and key stakeholders through project lifecycles, ensuring smooth collaboration and alignment.
    • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks in close coordination with Solution Architects and Technical Leads.
    • Serve as the main point of contact for customers, providing transparent communication and addressing challenges as a team.
  • Project governance & Financials
    • Develop, track, and maintain project timelines, budgets, and financial performance (contracts, billing, percentage of completion, etc.).
    • Ensure proper resource allocation and capacity planning, in alignment with the Portfolio Manager.
    • Drive continuous process improvements to enhance project efficiency and customer experience.
  • Collaboration & Customer success
    • Work closely with Customer Success Managers and Product Management teams to drive customer satisfaction and maximize business value.
    • Ensure seamless handovers from implementation to ongoing customer success management.
    • Advocate for customer needs and provide valuable product feedback to internal teams.
  • Business Development and Growth
    • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities during project execution by understanding customer needs and challenges.
    • Act as a trusted advisor, helping customers maximize the value of Syncron solutions.
    • Support pre-sales activities, including scoping, estimation, and proposal development for new business opportunities.
    • Collaborate with the sales team to drive customer expansion and increase long-term engagement.

What we expect:

  • 10+ years of experience in implementing enterprise software solutions, with at least 5+ years of hands-on project management experience.
  • Proven ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects with durations of 6-9 months.
  • Strong customer focus with a track record of delivering measurable business outcomes.
  • Experience in leading diverse teams across cultures and time zones.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
  • Strong understanding of project financials, budgeting, and change management processes.
  • Ability to travel globally when required for key project milestones.
  • Fluency in business English and Japanese (verbal and written).

Preferred Qualification:

  • Experience in Supply Chain, Pricing Optimization, or Service Lifecycle Management projects.
  • Knowledge of the after-sales domain in industries such as automotive, industrial equipment, agriculture, or aviation.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile (Scrum) certifications.
