Western Zone, situated on the scenic west coast of Newfoundland and Labrador, is seeking the services of a salaried Psychiatrist for Western Memorial Regional Hospital (WMRH), Corner Brook, Newfoundland. This position is one of eight (8) responsible for Psychiatry Services at WMRH. The position requires demonstrated experience working within an interprofessional practice model, and experience working in inpatient and outpatient settings. Experience working with patients with complex needs and treatment resistance would be an asset. On call is scheduled on an equitable basis with the other members of the Discipline.
Western Memorial Regional Hospital, a brand new, state of the art, acute care hospital opened in June 2024, is a 164-bed regional referral centre for Western Newfoundland and provides services to a population base of approximately 80,000 people.
Qualifications Required: Eligible for licensure as a Psychiatrist with The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador (CPSNL), Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certified or eligible and satisfy the credentialing requirements of Western Health’s Discipline of Psychiatry.
Remuneration: The Specialist Salary Scale ranges from $263,672 - $285,596 as outlined in the current Memorandum of Agreement (MOA). The Department of Health and Community Services in accordance with Provincial Guidelines will officially determine a Physician’s step assignment with yearly progression thereafter.
An annual Retention Bonus is offered in accordance with the current MOA. Additional benefits are available.
Available Incentives:
Physician Signing Bonus $150,000 with $25,000 top up
Come Home Incentive - $100,000 (if eligibility criteria are met)
