OMG Canada’s Capabilities group brings together a team of experts in marketing and advertising technology, digital platforms and marketplaces, data solutions and marketing science, and content and influencer marketing, to support the four brand agencies of OMG Canada. This team of specialist supports new business growth, product development and digital operational excellence including programmatic media buying for all digital channels, audience segmentation and measurement, and media insights derived from rigorous statistical analysis.

Position and Responsibilities

As the Head of this client-facing data science team, you will lead a team of data scientists to deliver on client needs across a suite of advanced analytics solutions. This will include advising agency client business leads and marketing scientists on selecting analytics solutions and measurement techniques that deliver critical insights as well as hold the media investments accountable. You’llwork with clients to evaluate data partners, to augment and enrich their existing data assets.

This will involve:

  • Lead and help to build a data science team that can interpret, ideate, and deliver client needs
  • Interact with client and teams (internal agency and external) to plan & execute data science projects and strategies related to media planning and performance
  • Work directly with tech and data partners regarding data, clean rooms, custom bidding platform functionality, and troubleshooting related issues
  • Work with data from behavioral partners, ad servers, DSPs, measurement partners, and other online or offline datasets to develop client-specific solutions
  • Collaboratively ideate and build tools that aid with analysis and machine learning transparency, visualization, and performance measurement
  • Serve as subject matter expert for all unified measurement solutions

Key Skills and Experience

  • 10+ years experience; knowledge of adtech ecosystem, programmatic advertising, and agency work experience a plus
  • 5+ years experience building and leading data science teams
  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics, related quantitative discipline, or equivalent practical experience
  • Understanding of common statistical and analytical methods to address business challenges
  • Experience with marketing analytics methodologies - media mix modeling (MMM), attribution models, incrementality frameworks
  • Hands-on expertise in Python/R, especially with data preparation, transformation, modeling packages and machine learning algorithms; proficient in SQL
  • Familiar with digital identifiers (e.g. Lotame, The Trade Desk, Experian/Tapad, LiveRamp), identity graphs and identity management
  • Experience conducting analyses in Google Ads Data Hub (ADH) and Amazon Marketing Cloud (AMC) data clean rooms
  • Experience with GCP and AWS
  • Ability to work with internal and client stakeholders to conceptualize and implement complex data science projects, inclusive of data origination
  • Demonstrated client management expertise
  • Experience in media planning, analysis and measurement
  • Strong business communication skills.Able to communicate the implications and recommendations of complex analyses in clear language for senior-level clients

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate across the Capabilities group, with colleagues in Investment, Platforms and Activation, Ad Operations, Data Engineering and Commerce.
