Job Description
Our client a Third Party Administrator is seeking a Senior Underwriter
This person is responsible for the accurate and timely data, and financial analysis
of various underwriting/financial projects for the pricing and oversight of Medical, Stop Loss,
and ancillary products for fully insured and self-funded plans for clients while ensuring
regulatory compliance. Helps oversee and manage the workflow of Underwriting professionals
to support company operations by maintaining office systems and supervising staff.
Essential Responsibilities:
Development of new business and renewal proposals, including stop loss proposals and
comprehensive client renewals
Performance and utilization analyses to identify trends in claims experience to support
future proposals and renewals.
Oversees the work of assigned analysts, including project assignment and workflow.
Monitors management reports relating to the area/office performance.
Analyzes and performs audits of analysts work for liabilities and adherence to company
standards.
Resolves and adjusts errors and complaints.
Supports the organization quality program(s).
Completes operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees.
Administers company personnel policies in and follows company staffing standards and
training recommendations.
Maximizes performance within the team with the development of strategies that enhance
productivity
Perform review and analysis of special projects and keep the management properly
informed.
Requirements:
Must be able to demonstrate a high level of underwriting knowledge, with an emphasis
on medical or stop loss underwriting.
Excellent oral and written communication, including presentation skills.
Expert abilities within Excel.
Analytical and interpretive skills.
Excellent organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service skills.
Ability to handle multiple projects and set priorities.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to meet or exceed Performance Standards.
Experience:
Minimum of five (5) years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of
education and experience required.
