Job Description AECOM is actively seeking a mid level Urban Planner to support our Federal practice to be based at our Orange, CA office. For this role, AECOM offers the freedom and flexibility to work on our hybrid schedule being a combination of in office time and remote work. AECOM's Urban Planning Group and Federal Planning Group form a powerhouse of expertise dedicated to shaping both the local and national landscapes. In parallel, our Federal Planning Group focuses on providing strategic planning and advisory services to federal agencies across various sectors. Job Overview: As an Urban Planner on our Federal team at AECOM, you will be a key team member supporting the planning and developing projects for various federal agencies. You will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in the field of urban planning within the context of federal projects, while also contributing to the successful delivery of planning solutions that meet client needs, regulations, and best practices to ensure that projects align with federal guidelines and objectives. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams. Assist planning teams on multi-disciplinary master planning projects for military installations world-wide Conduct research, gather and analyze planning-related data Contribute to the authorship of planning reports Support project teams in data collection, data analysis, preparation of plans and maps, report production, and workshop/meeting documentation Support planning workshop facilitation Produce maps and exhibits using GIS Qualifications Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning / Landscape Architecture / Architecture / Geography 2+ years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education Ability to travel Due to the nature of the work this role supports, US citizenship is required for this position Preferred Qualifications 4+ years of experience in master planning /site planning Proficient in crafting clear, concise, and compelling written communication, adept at conveying complex ideas effectively to diverse audiences. Strong GIS and /or CAD skills Capability to analyze data pertaining to space utilization, development constraints, future requirements and present conclusions Exceptional ability to capture and synthesize complex information through meticulous note-taking, facilitating comprehensive understanding, efficient collaboration, and accurate documentation.
