The Point Church in beautiful Bathurst, New Brunswick, is seeking a full-time Associate (or Assistant depending upon experience/qualifications) Pastor.
The Point Church is a fast-growing contemporary Baptist church with a decidedly outward and community-focused ministry. Over the past two years our congregation has more than doubled in size and nearly tripled in financial support! We are in the process of implementing a second service to facilitate both existing and future growth. With more than 200 people calling The Point Church home, skilled musical teams, a trained and eager volunteer base, multiple groups and activities, and an excitement for what God has in store—this is an excellent opportunity for the right person to step in and exercise your gifting.
As Associate Pastor (or Assistant) you will be given opportunity to be a vital part of strategic planning and implementation of a wide variety of initiatives both inside our church—and in the wider community in general. Our outreach events such as Trunk-or-Treat and Family Fun Days have been so impactful that the city has partnered with us and asked us to actually host events on their behalf!
Depending upon the season our church finds itself in, the Associate Pastor will be tasked with oversight of various ministries as well as pastoral care in all forms. The goal is not to lead groups or ministries—but to provide leadership to the leaders. Thus, training and equipping, along with clear expectations for volunteers is a must.
Our church is growing primarily with young families (yay!) and that means special attention must be given to raising up, and equipping, teams of children and youth workers. An aptitude for providing oversight in these areas is important. You will find the work environment to be casual and collaborative with a ton of freedom for you to determine your own rhythm as required for whatever challenge you’ve taken on!
Opportunity to share in the preaching/teaching, and to get super-creative with new ideas are welcome. We believe that ministry is multi-faceted and ever-changing; what is required in this season may not be what happens in the next.
