Job Description

Product Designer – Eyewear

KITS creates high-quality eyewear that bridges functionality, style, and consumer relevance. Embedded within the Design and Development Teams, the Product Designer will play an important role in the creation of new collections of optical frames and accessories, as well as the innovation and development of new product platforms and features. This role offers a unique opportunity for a creative designer to gain hands-on, end-to-end product design experience in a fast-paced, design-driven environment.

Note: Prior experience in the eyewear industry is not required . We welcome candidates from diverse product design backgrounds who are excited to contribute their skills to our mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draw insights from customer feedback, wear-testing, market research, and other relevant data points.
  • Create moodboards, sketch design proposals, prepare color-ups, and develop collection overviews.
  • Conduct research on design and material technologies, eyewear trends, and broader consumer behavior patterns.
  • Collaborate with frame assembly experts to develop a functional, durable, and aesthetically compelling product.
  • Translate concepts into detailed design briefs and work closely with overseas manufacturers through sampling, fitting, and refinement stages.
  • Build a working understanding of technical drawings and manufacturing specifications to support product quality control.
  • Create presentation decks to communicate design direction and updates across teams.

Requirements

  • Strong problem-solving and maker mindset.
  • Exceptional attention to detail around both product form and development process.
  • Excellent sketching, ideation, and research skills.
  • Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite; familiarity with MIRO and 3D tools is an asset.
  • Ability to follow design direction and contribute to a collaborative, highly cross-functional team environment.
  • Degree or diploma in Product Design, Industrial Design, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
