As a Recreation Facility Labourer, you'll play a key role in ensuring a welcoming environment for our community by upholding high standards of cleanliness and assisting with minor maintenance tasks. Your work will help create a great experience for everyone who visits our facilities.
Your Key Responsibilities - Maintain the cleanliness of recreation facilities in line with Standard Operating Procedures.
- Perform minor building repairs and routine preventative maintenance tasks.
- Assist Facility Operators with ice resurfacing, equipment maintenance, pool cleaning, and other operational duties.
- Document and report necessary repairs or potential issues to the Senior Facility Operator.
- Provide information and assist facility users with operational issues, ensuring a positive experience.
- Contribute to the general security and safety of the facility and its users.
What You Bring - Working knowledge of custodial techniques, cleaning equipment, and cleaning supplies.
- Basic understanding of building systems and general maintenance principles.
- Mechanical aptitude and proficiency with power and hand tools.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with co-workers and the public.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work with limited supervision.
- A commitment to safety, including wearing CSA-approved footwear while on shift.
- Reliable, dependable, and able to work as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work an ongoing flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and irregular hours.
Qualifications - Successful completion of Grade 12 or equivalent high school diploma.
- Minimum of three (3) months of relevant experience in aquatic, dryland, and ice recreation facility operations.
- Demonstrated working knowledge and ability to use power and hand tools and equipment.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 Driver's License, with an acceptable driving record.
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR certificates are required.
- An equivalent combination of Management approved training and experience may be considered.
